Andacht
The German word "Andacht" means a kind of informal meditation, a silent moment during the day where you stop and consider your current situation. The word has a religious background, but it can also be used in a profane context, to step back and consider your current situation, not so much thinking about yourself, but more about others that are important for you. For this you need a quiet place that has an atmosphere of solitude and "holyness", and for me there are two such places: churches and forests.
Both churches and forests sometimes have the power to transform you, to give you the context for "Andacht". We behave differently depending on the place where we are currently; so places have a meaning, they can give you meaning by simply being there.
